Arroyo Update for 5200, 5300, & 585 TECPak

The Arroyo Update program is used to upgrade your temperature controller to the latest version of firmware. Updates are released to add features, fix bugs, and otherwise improve the operation of the instrument.

The current firmware version is 1.53

If you are already running the current version of firmware, there is no need to run the update program. On 5235, 5240 and 5300 TECSources, the firmware version can easily be found as it is displayed on power-up. However, because the 585 TECPak has no display, you must query the instrument over the computer interface (this can be used on the 5235, 5240 or 5300s as well) by using the *IDN? query. The version will be included in the response.

This firmware update cannot be used on the 5230.

To upgrade your instrument, you will need either a RS-232 NULL modem cable or a USB cable:

  • For 5300 Series controllers with serial numbers lower than 121103359, and all 5235 controllers, the RS-232 port is used. You will need a RS-232 NULL modem cable and an available COM port on your PC to do the update, such as our 1200-NULL RS-232 Null Cable.
  • For 5300 Series controllers with serial numbers higher than 121103359, and all 5240 and TECPak controllers, the USB port is used. You will need a USB cable and an available USB port on your PC to do the update, such as our 1201 USB Cable. When using the USB cable, you will also need to install the USB drivers.

The download link below is a ZIP file that contains the update program. No installation is required, and the update program will run right out of the ZIP file.
